Emily began exploring music at a young age, learning piano, violin and singing. She quickly progressed through her ABRSM exams, focusing on classical and Bel Canto singing technique. She regularly took part in concerts and competitions around the Isle of Man, making a name for herself as a brilliant young singer.

She studied Music and Drama BA(hons) at the University of Manchester where she progressed her vocal studies under the tutorage of Catherine Mikic.

She sang in many operas, concerts and shows along the way. Here, Emily developed not just her classical and operatic technique, but also her Musical Theatre repertoire.

On returning to the Isle of Man, she won the roles of Betty Schaeffer in ‘Sunset Boulevard’ (Gaiety Theatre, British Isles amateur premiere) and Christine Daae in ‘Phantom of the Opera’ (Gaiety Theatre, British Isles amateur premiere). Other roles include The Lady of the Lake (Spamalot), Soloist (West Side Story), Maria (The Sound of Music).

Since moving to London, Emily has been studying voice under Alison Wells, and continues to develop her knowledge and abilities as a singer. She is currently working towards a performance as a soloist with the Isle of Man Symphony Orchestra and Choral Society, for Poulenc’s ‘Gloria’, Faure’s ‘Requiem’ and selections from Bizet’s ‘Carmen’.
